Definition and Function of UPS

The UPS power supply industry refers to the manufacturing, sales, and service areas of uninterruptible power supply products. UPS power supply, as an important electrical equipment, is used to provide stable and reliable power supply in the event of power grid interruption or abnormality, in order to protect equipment from the impact of power fluctuations or interruptions.
UPS contains a battery that will ‘start’ when the device detects a power outage from the main power source. If we use the computer when notified of a power outage by UPS, we have time to save all the data being processed and exit normally before the auxiliary power source runs out. When all power is depleted, all data in the computer’s random access memory will be deleted.
UPS converts input AC to DC through a rectifier and converts it back through an inverter. Batteries or flywheels store energy for utility failures. The bypass circuit is wired around the rectifier and inverter to operate IT loads on the input utility power or generator power. When there is a power failure, the battery drives the inverter and continues to operate the information technology load. When power is restored from a utility or generator, the rectifier delivers direct current to the inverter and simultaneously charges the battery.
2、 Market environment
With the development of digital transformation and information technology, the reliability requirements for power supply are becoming increasingly high. The demand for UPS power supply continues to grow for various key equipment, such as data centers, communication base stations, manufacturing equipment, etc. Meanwhile, the unstable factors in the electricity market have also prompted users to seek protection from UPS power sources. The uninterruptible power supply (UPS) industry in China will develop towards environmental protection, integration, and centralization, with products moving towards intelligence, customization, high power, and modularity. Energy conservation, low consumption, and green environmental protection have become the development direction of the uninterruptible power supply (UPS) industry. With the continuous deepening of artificial intelligence technology in various industries, the digitization and intelligence of data center facilities and infrastructure have gradually become a trend, and the technological content of uninterruptible power supply (UPS) products will be further enhanced.
